8.3.12 Measurement of Bladder Volume
The measurement of bladder volume is similar to Biplane-vol, however, the former shall
be performed in 2B mode only. Here are the operation steps:
a) In 2B mode unfrozen state, acquire the max. longitudinal plane in one image
window (plane R); Press the
Display Select control key to activate another
image window, meanwhile the image with the max. longitudinal plane is frozen;
acquire the max. transversal plane (plane L) perpendicular to plane R, then
press
Freeze to freeze the image.
b) Press Calc, select “Bladder Volume” to go to the bladder volume
measurement screen. The marks d1+, d2+ and d3+ are displayed in the image
area, and the measurement Long

is displayed in the result area.
c) Move the touchpad to place the + cursor on plane R, and measure the
longitudinal diameter and the A-P diameter (i.e. d1 and d2) with Distance
measurement. Press
Enter to finish d1 and d2 measurement, and activate
another new d3+ cursor. Similar to Distance measurement, measure transversal
diameter of the bladder on plane L (i.e. d3). Press
Enter again to switch
between the end points of the 3 lines, and move the trackball to modify. Press
Esc to finish the measurement.
d) Based on d1, d2 and d3 values (i.e. Long, A-P and Trans of the bladder), the
volume of the bladder (Vol) is calculated automatically and displayed in the
result area.
