Towing an Heavy Load
at Low Speed
V800 Models Only
CAUTION: When towing an heavy
load at low speed, engine compart-
ment temperature may become hot
due to a lack of air circulation.
To reduce engine compartment
temperature when stopping the ve-
hicle, it is always a good practice
before removing the tether cord
cap (DESS key) to do the following:
Let engine idle for approximately
30 seconds.
Stopengineusingtheenginecut-
out switch.
Engine cooling fan should contin-
ue to work for approximately 30
to 45 seconds.
When engine cooling fan stops,
remove tether cord cap (DESS
key).
NOTE: Removing tether cord cap
(DESS key) will stop engine cooling
fan automatically.
Transporting the Vehicle
Make sure that oil reservoir and fuel
tank caps are properly installed.
Tilt bed trailers can easily be equipped
with a winch mechanism to afford
maximum safety in loading. Simple
as it may seem, never drive your
snowmobile onto a tilt bed trailer or
any other kind of trailer or vehicle.
Many serious accidents have result-
ed from driving up and over a trailer.
Anchor your vehicle securely, front
and rear, even on short hauls. Be
certain all equipment is securely fas-
tened. Cover your snowmobile when
trailering to prevent road grime from
causing damage.
Be certain your trailer meets state or
provincial requirements. Ensure the
hitch and safety chains are secure and
the brake, turn indicators and clear-
ance lights all function.
