4.3-10 Test Parking Brake
WARNING
The seat belt must be worn at all times.
1. Ensure telehandler is on a rm, level surface.
2. Ensure the path of intended travel is clear
and area around telehandler is clear of any
personnel or obstructions.
3. Depress service brake, move parking brake
switch

to off position.

Result: Parking brake indicator light should
turn off.
4. Move transmission lever to FWD (1st gear, for
powershift transmission), and gradually release
the service brake pedal.
▪
Result: Telehandler should roll forward.
5. Move parking brake switch to on position.
▪
Result: Parking brake should engage,
telehandler should stop immediately (less than
two seconds), and parking brake indicator
light should illuminate.
