SECTION 5, Page 24 SJKB-40-D, SJKB-40-D/F
JUN. 1999
NOTE: Perform tests with basket over non-steer axle, boom below horizontal and fully retracted.
For the following procedure refer to Figure 5-15, and Figure 5-16.
1. Locate and remove the hose attached to the port labeled “Ps” on the drive pump.
2. Cap hose to prevent contaminating hydraulic system.
3. Install a 3000 PSI gauge into the port labeled “Ps” on the drive pump.
4. Start engine from base controls.
5. Check reading on gauge. It should read 390 PSI. If 390 PSI present, move to step 9. If no pressure present,
go to next step.
6. If no pressure present or below 390 PSI, replace relief valve RV5.
7. If no pressure present or below 390 PSI after replacing relief valve RV5, replace the pressure over ride valve
POR1.
8. If no pressure present or below 390 PSI, replace drive pump.
9. Locate and disconnect the forward drive hose from the top of the rotary manifold.
10. Cap port in rotary manifold to prevent contaminating hydraulic system.
11. Install a 10,000 PSI gauge into the hose.
12. Start engine from platform.
13. Select low engine RPM’S (2200 RPM Dual Fuel, 1800 RPM Diesel).
14. SLOWLY move drive joystick in the forward direction.
15. Observe gauge reading. Gauge should read 4800 PSI. If 4800 PSI present drive pump is operating properly.
If no pressure present, replace drive pump.
