5.2 Preparation
The operator should be familiar with the warnings
and cautions.
The operator should be quali! ed to work with the
unit.
Always ensure that the wheel guard is lifted and the
gauge arm is in its home position (far left position)
when the unit has been switched off.
5.2.1 Power up
D
o not keep any key pressed down during power
up.
Refer to Fig. 5-3.
Insert the power cable plug in the main socket “1”.
Set the switch on the socket to the “I” position.
Note: If the unit beeps and does not proceed or
if an error code is shown, F 7.0.
The unit will beep and perform a self-test.
The displays and the weight position indicators relating
to the current weight mode will be shown (default).
After switch on the ! rst screen page shown is RIM
DATA ENTRY (Fig. 4-5).
The unit is now ready for commands.
Note: If in the INTRO SCREEN page (Fig.
4-4), you can switch directly to the RIM
DATA ENTRY screen page by simply
removing the detecting device for wheel
data acquisition.
5.2.2 Status at Switching On
The electronic unit is factory-adjusted to the following
m
odes of operation, which are available after switching
on:
Vehicle type 1 (car wheel with nominal dimensions in
inches, width 6.5” and diameter 15.0”).
Entry of rim data in inches.
Display of amount of unbalance in 0,25 oz increments.
Suppression of minor unbalance readings (limit set
to 0,25 oz).
Automatic braking of wheel when guard is opened
during the measuring run.
Start the measuring run by closing the wheel guard.
