Basic Operations
Recording with a Portable VTR
1 Turn the power switches to the camera and
connected equipment to the ON position.
2 Set the VTR to Record Standby mode.
3 Adjust the black balance and white balance. (For
details on how to do this, see “Adjusting the Black
Balance,” page 55 and “Adjusting the White
Balance,” page 56.)
4 Point the camera at a reference object and adjust
the lens.

Close-Up Function (see page 62)
Focus
5 To start recording, press the VTR button on the
camera, the VTR START/RETURN VIDEO
button on the camera adaptor, or the VTR button
on the lens.
The REC/TALLY indicator in the viewfinder
lights up during recording.
6 To stop recording, press the VTR START/
RETURN VIDEO button or the VTR button used
in Step 5 above.
Recording with a Table-Top VTR
To record using a table-top VTR, follow the procedure
explained for recording with a portable VTR except
for the following:
Start and stop recording using the function buttons on
the VTR.
The REC/TALLY indicator in the viewfinder does
not function.
The return video and the playback picture cannot be
monitored on the viewfinder screen.
