On safety

Should any solid object or liquid fall into the cabinet, unplug the receiver and have it checked by qualified personnel before operating it any further.

Before operating the receiver, check that the operating voltage is identical with your local power supply.

Check that you received the following items with the remote.

Inserting batteries into the remote

Insert batteries with the + and – properly oriented in the battery compartment.

Under normal conditions, the batteries should last for about 3 months.

Antenna Hookups

Terminals for connecting the antennas

Connect the AM loop antenna to AM terminals and FM wire antenna to FM 75Ω COAXIAL terminal.

Assembling the supplied FM antenna

The supplied FM wire antenna must be connected to the supplied FM antenna adaptor.

Notes on antenna hookups

To prevent noise pickup, keep the AM loop antenna away from the receiver and other components.

Important

If you connect the receiver to an outdoor antenna, ground it against lightning.

Audio Component Hookups

Required cords

Audio cords (not supplied). When connecting a cord, be sure to match the color-coded pins to the appropriate jacks.

If you have a CONTROL A1 II compatible Sony CD player, tape deck, or MD deck

Use a CONTROL A1 cord to connect the CONTROL A1 II jack on the component to the receiver.

If you have a Sony CD changer with a COMMAND MODE selector

Set command mode to "CD 1" and connect the changer to the CD jacks.

Connecting the AC power cord

Caution

Make sure total power consumption of components connected to AC OUTLET(s) does not exceed wattage stated.

Note

If AC power cord is disconnected for about two weeks, receiver's memory will be cleared.

Press SET UP, select IR SET, MACRO 1/2, then program up to 8 IR codes.

To cancel programming

Select EXIT or CANCEL during any step.

To erase a programmed IR code

Select "NO SET" from FUNCTION list.

To delay the output of an IR code

Select "WAIT TIME" to specify delay between operations.
