Network Basics
Networking lets you communicate between beds in a single care unit or to review
information from another care unit.
Each care unit is defined on your networked system as a subnet. When you start any
of the remote functions, you first select the subnet and then select the particular
bed.
When you view clinical parameter information for a particular bed from another
bedside monitor, you can control those parameters just as if you were at that
remote bedside. Remotely viewed parameters occupy the lowest zone on the
bedside monitor display. Each patient’s data is separated from other zones by a
dividing line.
When a bedside monitor is set up to alarm watch another bedside, a one-second
advisory tone sounds at the onset of an alarm condition (if the remote alarm tone is
enabled).
To select a subnet and bed for remote functions
1 From the main taskbar, touch the Remote icon.
2 Touch the remote access function you want to use: Remote
View, Alarm Watch, Remote Trends, or Remote Calcs.
Note:
Remote View and Alarm Watch cannot be enabled at the same time. Touch On
or Off to enable or disable either option.
