6.6.2 Changing the sample probe
To change the sample probe, proceed as follows:
1. To switch off the plasma generator, press the switch:
2. Open the sample probe connector clamp.
3. Disconnect the connector from the sample probe.
4. Plug in the new sample probe and close the clamp again.
 When plugging in the new sample probe, ensure that the brass plugs for
the fiber-optics and the argon supply are located on the right-hand side.
5. To switch on the plasma generator, press the switch:
6. Standardize the unit, see page 27.
 The sample probe has been changed and the unit has been set to the new
conditions.
6.6.3 Changing the adapter
Changing the adapter is necessary when another type of discharge (arc or spark)
is required. This also requires changing the electrode.
To change the adapter, proceed as follows:
1. To switch off the plasma generator, press the switch:
2. Loosen the knurled screw of the adapter.
3. Pull out the adapter.
4. Change the electrode, see page 21.
5. Plug in the new adapter.
 The spark discharge adapter is sealed with an O-ring.
 Press the adapter beyond the resistance.
 The adapter must make contact over its entire surface.
 On the arc discharge adapter, the opening must point towards the fiber-
optics.
6. Fix the adapter in place using the knurled screw.
7. To switch on the plasma generator, press the switch:
 The adapter has now been changed.
