Program
A sequence of actions that equipment performs in order to clean instruments. Also referred to
as a "cycle".
Protective Earth
An earth ground connection to physical ground. When a fault occurs, current flows from the
power system to earth.
R
Recirculation
Fluids in the tank are pumped through the basket manifold and into connected luer hoses. This
fluid then returns to the tank. Recirculating tank fluids are used for flushing of instruments.
Rewash
Washing water is reused for multiple wash cycles, as defined within cycle settings setup by
operator with supervisor access.
S
Servicing
Performed by an approved technician: A periodic adjustment and calibration, along with
replacement of parts, to ensure that equipment continues to perform at an optimal level.
Set Point
The temperature parameter within a wash program that is used alongside temperature sensors
to control heating of tank fluids.
Si/S Instruments
A range of instruments made by Intuitive Surgical within the brand of Da Vinci. The cleaning and
processing of Si/S instruments requires procedures (as described in this manual) that are
specific to the instrument type.
