Operator
Person using equipment according to its intended purpose, as part of their regular work actvity.
Overflow
An equipment feature that ensures fluid flows to drain in the event that tank is overfilled, and
does not spill over unit or floor.

Parameter(s)
Settings within the equipment that govern important aspects of the cycle, such as wash
temperature, degassing duration, and wash duration.
Precaution
Describes an action or measure taken in advance to avert or minimize the risk of harm to
persons, and/or damage to equipment.
Prewash
A preliminary washing action, performed before washing actions, to remove less-stubborn
contaminants from instruments.
Prime, Priming
An action that fills chemical pump and hoses from chemical bottle to tank inlet with chemical.
This ensures the correct dose of chemical will be delivered when demanded by wash cycle
actions.
Processing
A general term used to describe a series of actions intended to clean instruments, or prepare
intsruments for secondary cleaning using other equipment.
