4. Open the lid slowly and partially to allow hot vapors to escape from the tank. When
vapors have escaped, the lid can be opened fully.
WARNING — Burn hazard
l Since temperatures within the equipment can reach +60 °C (+140 °F)
during and after operation, take care when opening the lid at the end of a
wash cycle.
l Allow sufficient time for items to cool before handling, cleaning, or
commencing maintenance procedures.
l When removing the basket from a full tank of hot water, make sure that
gloves are suitably rated for thermal protection. Alternatively, wait until
the water temperature is below a safe limit for the PPE used.
5. Remove the basket from the tank and move the basket to a draining and unloading
area away from the sonic irrigator. See
Removing the Basket from the Tank
on
page33.
6. For any cannulated (lumened) and robotic instruments, it is recommended that luer
hoses and connectors are removed one at a time and inspected before accepting
an instrument as processed.
WARNING
If a luer hose or connector, or luer hose appears restricted due to instrument
movement, the instrument should be reprocessed.
