Oil Supply Procedure
•Alwaysstoptheunitbeforeaddingoil
•Oillevelmaydropduringoperation,dependingontheoilviscosity,temperatureanddirectionofrotation.Additionaloilis
not necessary. Check the oil level when the unit is stopped to ensure that it has the correct amount of oil.
•Itmaytakesometimefortheoiltosettlewhentheoilviscosityishigh.Becarefulnottoaddtoomuchoil.
•Theremaybetwodierentoillllocationsforsomecombinations;refertooilll/drainlocationsgurefordetails.
•Considerimplementinganoilanalysisprogramtoensurelubricantcontinuestooperateatpeakperformance.Followyour
lubrication provider’s oil analysis recommendations to ensure reducer performance.
•Alwaysconsultfactoryandwarehousesforoverhaulofgearmotorsandreducers.FamiliaritywithCyclo
products is necessary for proper overhaul.
1.Removetheoilllplug,asreferencedintheFiguresbelow.
2. Slowly add oil while checking the level through the oil gauge.
3.Aftertheoilhassettled,makesurethelevelismidwaybetweenthehighandlowmarksontheoilgauge.
4. Insert the oil fill plug after wrapping it with sealing compound or tape.
OilchangeIntervals
Oillevelmustbecheckedevery5,000hours.Iftheoiliscontaminated,burnedorwaxed,changetheoilimmediately,andushthegearif
necessary. The oil level can be checked by the oil level contol device.
Undernormaloperatingconditionsoilshouldbechangedevery10,000hoursorafter2yearsatthelatest.Ashorteroilchange(every
3,000or5,000hours)willincreasethegearlifetime.
We recommend to change the oil after the first 500 hours of operation.
Therecommendationsabovedonotapplytoabnormaloperatingconditions,i.e.,hightemperature,highhumidityorcorrosiveenviron-
ments.Ifanyofthesesituationsexist,thelubricantmayhavetobechangedmorefrequently.

1.RemovethedrainplugasshownintheFiguresabove,todischargeoil.
2. Properly discard or recycle lubricant according to applicable regulations.
3. Replace the drain plug after wrapping it with sealing compound or tape.
