2. Basic splicing operation

Cleaving the fiber
1: Open the top clamp lever
and the lid of the single fiber
adapter. The blade carriage
should be in the forward
position.
2: Lower the fiber straight into
the correct groove of the
single fiber adapter with the
end of the fiber coating at
the 16mm mark on the
ruler (e.g. if the cleave
length is 16mm).
3: Close the lid of the single
fiber adapter.
Lower the top clamp lever.
4: Slide the blade carriage to
the rear of the cleaver as
indicated by the arrow.

Cleave the fiber. (An example shows use of Sumitomo FC-6RS fiber cleaver, the
cleave length shown applies to any cleaving tools. If you use other model, please refer
to its operation manual.)
Applicable cleave length: 5mm-20mm (φ0.25mm), 10-20mm (φ0.9mm)
*A maximum cleave length for the Z2C is 16mm.
