AIAS When core to cladding concentricity is
high, surface tension pulls the claddings
into alignment and misaligns the cores,
having an effect on splice losses. The
splicer automatically performs an axis
shift prior to arc fusion to minimize the
effect. (Select ONOFF
-
NanoTune Automatically optimizes splice condition.
(Select ONOFF
-
NanoTune Threshold
Sets the NanoTune active level.
-
Splice Method Sets the splicing process to Automatic or
Manual.
-
MFD Mismatch
Coefficient
Sets the coefficient for an estimated loss
yielded due to MFD mismatch.
- -
Wavelength Sets the wavelength for loss estimation
calculation.
-
MFD-L Sets the MFD of left side optical fiber.
-
MFD-R Sets the MFD of right side optical fiber.
-
Estimated Loss
Coefficient
Sets the coefficient for loss estimation.
- -
Minimum Loss Sets the value to be added to an esti-
mated loss.
- -
Estimated Loss Limit Sets the threshold of estimated loss. If a
reading exceeds the threshold, the splicer
will give an error.
-
Rearc Time Sets the time for additional arc to be
conducted after splicing.
-
Estimation Mode Sets the loss estimation method to
“High(HDCM)” or “Standard”. If “High” is
chosen, the splicer will observe and in-
spect the core of spliced fiber with very
high precision after fusion splicing.
-
Rearc Power Sets the output power of additional arc.
- -
Proof Test Enables or disables the proof test to be
performed after splicing. If disabled, the
proof test is not performed by pressing
the SET icon or key and opening the hood.
- -
Bubble check Enables or disables the function of bubble
check for spliced fiber.
