Suzuki DL1000 - Inspection and Disassembly; Removal

CHASSIS 6-9
REMOVAL
• Remove the right and left brake calipers

• Loosen two axle pinch bolts
2 on the right front fork leg.

• Slightly loosen the front axle by using the special tool.
# 09944-28320: Hexagon bit 19 mm
• Raise the front wheel off the ground and support the motorcy-
cle with a jack or a wooden block.
• Remove the front axle and the front wheel.
• Remove the spacer

NOTE:
After removing the front wheel, fit the calipers temporarily to the
original positions.
INSPECTION AND DISASSEMBLY

BRAKE DISC (!6-62)
• Remove the brake discs.
DUST SEAL
• Inspect the dust seals lip for wear or damage. If any damages
are found, replace the dust seals with new ones.
Do not operate the brake lever while removing the cal-
ipers.
