Note:Whenyouconnectanexternalmonitor,avideointerfacecablewithaferritecoreisrequired.
Yourcomputercansupportamaximumvideoresolutionofupto1920x1200(withanexternalmonitor
connectedtotheHDMIconnector)orupto2560x1600(withanexternalmonitorconnectedtotheHDMI
connector),providedthattheexternalmonitoralsosupportsthatresolution.Formoreinformationaboutthe
externalmonitor,refertothemanualsprovidedwiththeexternalmonitor.
Youcansetanyresolutionforeitherthecomputerdisplayortheexternalmonitor.Whenyouusebothatthe
sametime,theresolutionofbothisthesame.Ifyousetahigherresolutionforthecomputerdisplay,you
canseeonlypartofthescreenatatime.YoucanseeotherpartsbymovingtheimagewiththeTrackPoint
pointingdeviceoranotherpointingdevice.
Youcanmovethedisplayoutputtothecomputerdisplay,theexternalmonitor,orbothintheDisplay
Settingswindow.
Connectinganexternalmonitor
Toconnectanexternalmonitor,dothefollowing:
1.ConnecttheexternalmonitortotheHDMIconnectorofyourcomputer.
2.Connecttheexternalmonitortoanelectricaloutlet.
3.Turnontheexternalmonitor.
4.ChangethedisplayoutputlocationbypressingF7.Thisenablesyoutoswitchamongviewingoutput
ontheexternalmonitor,thecomputermonitor,andbothmonitors.
Note:Ifyourcomputercannotdetecttheexternalmonitor,right-clickonthedesktop,thenselectScreen
resolution.ClicktheDetectbutton.
Settingtheexternalmonitortype
Tosettheexternalmonitortype,dothefollowing:
1.Connecttheexternalmonitortoyourcomputer,andthenconnectthemonitortoanelectricaloutlet.
2.Turnontheexternalmonitor.
3.Right-clickonthedesktopandthenclickScreenresolution.
Note:Ifyourcomputercannotdetecttheexternalmonitor,clicktheDetectbutton.
4.SelecttheexternalmonitorandsetResolution.
5.ClickAdvancedSettings.
6.ClicktheMonitortab.Checkthemonitorinformationtoensurethatthemonitortypeiscorrect.Ifitis,
clickOKtoclosethewindow;otherwiseproceedwiththefollowingsteps.
7.Ifmorethantwomonitortypesaredisplayed,selectGenericPnPMonitororGenericNon-PnP
Monitor.
8.ClickProperties.Ifyouarepromptedforanadministratorpasswordorconfirmation,typethepassword
orprovideconfirmation.
9.ClicktheDrivertab.
10.ClickUpdateDriver.
11.ClickBrowsemycomputerfordriversoftware,andthenclickLetmepickfromalistofdevice
driversonmycomputer.
