Usingrecoverymedia
Thissectionprovidesinstructionsonhowtouserecoverymediaondifferentoperatingsystems.
•OntheWindows7operatingsystem,youcanuserecoverymediatorestorethecomputertothefactory
defaultsettingsonly.Youcanuserecoverymediatoputthecomputerinanoperationalstateafterall
othermethodsofrecoveryhavefailed.
Attention:Whenyouuserecoverymediatorestorethecomputertothefactorydefaultsettings,allthe
filescurrentlyontheharddiskdrivewillbedeletedandreplacedbythefactorydefaultsettings.
TouserecoverymediaontheWindows7operatingsystem,dooneofthefollowing:
–Methodone:
1.Dependingonthetypeofyourrecoverymedia,connectthebootmedium(memorykeyorother
USBstoragedevices)tothecomputer,orinsertthebootdiscintotheexternalopticaldrive.
2.Turnoffthecomputerbypressingandholdingthepowerbuttonforfourseconds.
3.Turnonthecomputerbypressingthepowerbutton,andthenrepeatedlypressandreleasethe
F12key.WhentheBootMenuwindowopens,releasetheF12key.
4.SelectthedesiredstartupdeviceandclickNext.
5.Followtheinstructionsonthescreentocompletetheoperation.
–Methodtwo:
1.Dependingonthetypeofyourrecoverymedia,connectthebootmedium(memorykeyorother
USBstoragedevices)tothecomputer,orinsertthebootdiscintotheexternalopticaldrive.
2.Turnonthecomputerbypressingthepowerbutton.Whenthelogoscreenisdisplayed,repeatedly
pressandreleasetheF12key.Whenamessageisdisplayedindicatingyouthattherecovery
operationisfailed,releasetheF12key.
3.ClickOK.
4.IntheProductRecoverywindow,clickCancel.
5.Whenprompted,clickYes.Thecomputerrestartsautomatically.
6.Whenthelogoscreenisdisplayed,repeatedlypressandreleasetheF12key.WhentheBoot
Menuwindowopens,releasetheF12key.
7.SelectthedesiredstartupdeviceandclickNext.
8.Followtheinstructionsonthescreentocompletetheoperation.
