INSPECTION AND SERVICING: ENGINE COMPONENTS AND CRANK CONNECTING ROD
• Remove cylinder head (See Cylinder Head Removal under Valve Mechanism Inspection).
CYLINDER BORE INSPECTION:
• Remove all gasket material from the cylinder sealing surfaces.
• Inspect the top of the cylinder for evidence of warping using a straight edge and feeler gauge.
Service Limit 0.04 mm 0.002 in.
• Inspect cylinder for wear, scratches, or damage.
• Inspect cylinder for taper and out of round. Measure in two different directions, front-to-back and side-to-
side, on three different levels:
• Record measurements. If cylinder is tapered or out of round beyond 0.04 mm or 0.002 in., the cylinder must
