• To check level, remove level screw on the left rear engine case. If gear oil does not come out of hole, add
until it does.
• To drain gear oil, remove the drain plug at the rear bottom of the engine case. It is recommended to warm the
engine for 10 minutes or more before draining fi nal gear oil.
Note:
API Service Standard GL-5, GL-4, GL-3 SAE 80W 90 gear oil is recommended in the fi nal drive case. How-
ever, in extreme cold weather conditions it is then advised to use lighter viscosity oil, such as 75 wt.
Final drive capacity: 115 cc 4 oz.
TRANSMISSION CASE
TRANSMISSION CASE REMOVAL
• Remove the driven belt pulley.
• Drain the oil from the transmission case.
• Remove the drive sprocket.
• Remove the bolts and remove the transmission case cover.
• Remove the gasket and dowel pin.
• Remove the fi nal gear from the output shaft, and remove the counter shaft.
TRANSMISSION CASE GEAR INSPECTION
• Inspect the counter shaft gear for damage.
• Inspect the fi nal gear and the output shaft for damage.
TRANSMISSION CASE COVER BEARING REPLACEMENT
• Press the driven belt pulley shaft to make it separate with the transmission cover.
• Remove the oil seal and drive out the bearing.
