recommendedduringthebreak-inperiod.
Only8hoursofmowingoperationisrequiredforthe
break-inperiod.
Sincethersthoursofoperationarecriticaltofuture
dependabilityofthemachine,monitoritsfunctions
andperformancecloselysothatminordifculties,
whichcouldleadtomajorproblems,arenotedandcan
becorrected.Inspectthemachinefrequentlyduring
break-inforsignsofoilleakage,loosefasteners,orany
othermalfunction.
Toensureoptimumperformanceofthebrakesystem,
burnish(break-in)thebrakesbeforeusingthemachine.
Toburnishthebrakes,rmlyapplythebrakesanddrive
themachineatmowingspeeduntilthebrakesarehot,
asindicatedbytheirsmell.Anadjustmenttothebrakes
mayberequiredafterbreak-in;refertoAdjustingthe
Brakes.
StartingtheEngine
Note:Inspecttheareabeneaththemowerstobe
certaintheyareclearofdebris.
1.Sitontheseat,locktheparkingbrake,disengagethe
raise/lowermowcontrolandmovethefunctional
controllevertoNeutral.
2.Removeyourfootfromthetractionpedalandmake
surethepedalisintheNeutralposition.
3.Movethechokelevertotheclosedposition(only
whenstartingacoldengine)andthethrottlelever
tothehalfthrottleposition.
4.Insertandrotatetheignitionkeyclockwiseuntil
theenginestarts.Aftertheenginestarts,regulate
thechoketokeeptheenginerunningsmoothly.
Assoonaspossible,openthechokebypulling
itrearwardtotheOffposition.Awarmengine
requireslittleornochoking.
5.Checkthemachineoutwiththefollowing
proceduresaftertheenginehasstarted:
A.MovethethrottlecontroltotheFastposition
andmomentarilyengagethereelsbymoving
theraise/lowermowcontrolleverforward.
Thecuttingunitsshoulddropandallthereels
shouldturn.
B.Movetheraise/lowermowcontrollever
rearward.Thecuttingreelsshouldstopandthe
cuttingunitsshouldraisetothefulltransport
position.
Important:Stoptheengine.Checkthelip
ofeachbaskettobesureitisnotincontact
withthereelduringoperation.Adjust
thepullarmsifcontactisnoted;referto
InstallingtheCuttingUnits.
C.Depressthebrakepedaltokeepthemachine
frommoving,andoperatethetractionpedal
throughtheforwardandreversepositions.
D.Continuetheaboveprocedurefor1-2minutes.
Neutralizethefunctionalcontrollever,lockthe
parkingbrake,andturntheengineoff.
E.Checkforoilleaks.Ifoilleaksappear,check
thetightnessofthehydraulicttings.Ifoil
leakscontinuetoappear,contactyourlocal
ToroDistributorforassistanceand,ifnecessary,
replacementparts.
Important:Atraceofoilonthemotoror
wheelsealsisnormal.Sealsrequireasmall
amountoflubricationtoperformproperly.
Note:Sincethemachineisnewandthe
bearingsandreelsaretight,itisnecessarytouse
theFastthrottlecontrolpositionforthischeck.
Afastthrottlesettingmaynotberequiredafter
thebreak-inperiod.
