Ifthesafetyinterlockswitchesaredisconnected
ordamagedthemachinecouldoperate
unexpectedlycausingpersonalinjury.
•Donottamperwiththeinterlockswitches.
•Checktheoperationoftheinterlock
switchesdailyandreplaceanydamaged
switchesbeforeoperatingthemachine.
Thepurposeofthesafetyinterlocksystemistoprevent
operationofthemachinewherethereispossibleinjury
totheoperatororthemachine.
Thesafetyinterlocksystempreventstheenginefrom
startingunless:
•Thetractionpedalisinneutral.
•Thefunctionalcontrolleverisinneutral.
Thesafetyinterlocksystempreventsthemachinefrom
movingunless:
•Theparkingbrakeisoff.
•Theoperatorisseated.
•ThefunctionalcontrolleverisinMoworTransport.
Thesafetyinterlocksystempreventsthereelsfrom
operatingunlessthefunctionalcontrolleverisinthe
Mowposition.
Performthefollowingsystemchecksdailytobesure
theinterlocksystemisoperatingcorrectly:
1.Sitontheseat,movethetractionpedaltoNeutral,
movethefunctionalcontrollevertoNeutral,and
engagetheparkingbrake.Trytodepressthe
tractionpedal.Thepedalshouldnotdepress,
whichmeansthattheinterlocksystemisoperating
correctly.Correcttheproblemifitisnotoperating
properly.
2.Sitontheseat,movethetractionpedaltoNeutral,
movethefunctionalcontrollevertoNeutral,and
engagetheparkingbrake.Movethefunctional
controllevertomowortransportandtrytostartthe
engine.Theengineshouldnotcrank,whichmeans
thattheinterlocksystemisoperatingcorrectly.
Correcttheproblemifitisnotoperatingproperly.
3.Sitontheseat,movethetractionpedaltoNeutral,
movethefunctionalcontrollevertoNeutral,
andengagetheparkingbrake.Starttheengine
andmovethefunctionalcontrollevertomowor
transport.Theengineshouldkill,whichmeansthat
theinterlocksystemisoperatingcorrectly.Correct
theproblemifitisnotoperatingproperly.
4.Sitontheseat,movethetractionpedaltoNeutral,
movethefunctionalcontrollevertoNeutral,and
engagetheparkingbrake.Starttheengine.Release
theparkingbrake,movethefunctionalcontrol
levertomow,andrisefromtheseat.Theengine
shouldkill,whichmeansthattheinterlocksystem
isoperatingcorrectly.Correcttheproblemifitis
notoperatingproperly.
5.Sitontheseat,movethetractionpedaltoNeutral,
movethefunctionalcontrollevertoNeutral,and
engagetheparkingbrake.Starttheengine.Move
theraise/lowermowcontrolforwardtolowerthe
cuttingunits.Thecuttingunitsshouldnotstart
rotating.Iftheydo,theinterlocksystemisnot
operatingcorrectly.Correcttheproblem.
CheckingtheLeakDetector
Theleakdetectorsystemisdesignedtoassistinearly
detectionofhydraulicoilsystemleaks.Iftheoillevel
inthemainhydraulicreservoir,isloweredby4to6
ounces(118-177ml),theoatswitchinthetankwill
close.Afteraoneseconddelay,thealarmwillsound,
alertingtheoperator(Figure29).Expansionofoil,due
tonormalheatingduringmachineoperation,willcause
theoiltotransferintotheauxiliaryoilreservoir.Theoil
isallowedtoreturntothemaintankwhentheignition
switchisturnedoff.
