ReducingTransportSpeed
1.Pressdownonthetractionpedalandloosenthe
locknutsecuringthepedalstoptotheoorplate.
2.Loosenthepedalstopuntilthedesiredtransport
speedisobtained.
3.Tightenthelocknutsecuringthepedalstop.
AdjustingtheMowingSpeed
Themachineisadjustedatthefactory,butspeedmay
bevariedifdesired.
1.Loosenjamnutonpedallockcapscrew(Figure56).

2.Rotatecapscrewclockwisetoincreasemowingspeed
andcounterclockwisetodecreasemowingspeed.
3.Tightenjamnutandcheckgroundspeed.Readjust,
ifrequired.
BrakeMaintenance
AdjustingtheBrakes
Abrakeadjustmentrodislocatedoneachsideofthe
machinesothatthebrakescanbeequallyadjusted.
Adjustthebrakesasfollows:
1.Whilemovingforwardintransportspeed,pressthe
brakepedal;bothwheelsshouldlockequally.
Testingthebrakesinaconnedareawhere
othersarepresentcouldcauseinjury.
Alwayscheckthebrakesinawide,open-spaced,
atareawhichisfreeofotherpersonsand
obstructionsbeforeandafteradjustment.
2.Ifthebrakesdonotlockequally,disconnectthe
brakerodsbyremovingthecotterpinandclevispin
(Figure57).

3.Loosenthejamnutandadjusttheclevisaccordingly
(Figure57).
4.Assembletheclevistothebrakeshaft(Figure57).
5.Checktheamountoffreetravelofthebrakepedal
whentheadjustmentiscompleted.Thereshouldbe
1/2to1inch(13to26mm)travelbeforethebrake
shoesmakecontactwiththebrakedrums.Adjust,if
necessary,toachievethissetting.
6.Whilemovingforwardintransportspeed,pressthe
brakepedal;bothbrakesshouldlockequally.Adjust,
ifnecessary.
7.Itisrecommendedthatthebrakesbeburnished
annually;refertotheBreak-InPeriodsection.
