1.Releasethelockingclipsandremovetheaircleaner
cover(Figure46).Cleanthecoverthoroughly.

2.Removethewingnutsecuringtheelementstothe
aircleanerbody.
3.Ifthefoamelementisdirty,removeitfromthepaper
element(Figure47).Cleanitthoroughly,asfollows:
A.Washthefoamelementinasolutionofliquid
soapandwarmwater.Squeezeittoremovedirt,
butdonottwistitbecausethefoammaytear.
B.Dryitbywrappingitinacleanrag.Squeezethe
ragandfoamelementdry.

4.Whenservicingthefoamelement,checkthe
conditionofthepaperelement.Cleanitbygently
tappingitonaatsurfaceorreplaceitifneeded.
5.Installthefoamelement,paperelement,andair
cleanercover.
Important:Donotoperatetheenginewithout
theaircleanerelementbecauseextremeengine
wearanddamagewilllikelyresult.
ChangingtheEngineOiland
Filter
Changetheoilandlteraftertherst8hoursof
operation.Thereafter,changetheoilevery50hoursand
thelterevery100hours.
1.Removethedrainplug(Figure48)andletoilow
intoadrainpan.Whentheoilstops,installthedrain
plug.

2.Removetheoillter(Figure48).Applyalightcoat
ofcleanoiltothenewltergasket.
3.Screwthelteronbyhanduntilthegasketcontacts
thelteradapter,thentighten1/2to3/4turn
further.Donotovertighten.
4.Addoiltothecrankcase;refertoCheckingthe
EngineOil.
5.Disposeoftheusedoilproperly.
