areaawayfromthegreen.Determinethecauseof
thealarmandcorrecttheproblem.
7.Finishcuttingthegreenbymowingtheouter
periphery.Besuretochangethedirectionofcutting
fromthepreviousmowing.Alwayskeepweather
andturfconditionsinmindandbesuretochange
thedirectionofmowingfromthepreviouscutting.
Replacetheag.
8.Emptythegrassbasketsofallclippingsbefore
transportingtothenextgreen.Heavywetclippings
placeanunduestrainonthebasketsandwill
addunnecessaryweighttothemachine,thereby
increasingtheloadontheengine,hydraulicsystem,
brakes,etc.
LeakDetectorOperation
Theleakdetectoralarmmaysoundforoneofthe
followingreasons:
•Aleakof4to6ounces(118-177ml)hasoccurred.
•Theoillevelinthemainreservoirisreducedby4to
6ouncesduetocontractionoftheoilbycooling.
Ifthealarmsounds,itshouldbeturnedoffasquickly
aspossibleandinspectedforleaks.Ifthealarmsounds
whileoperatingonagreenitmaybeappropriate
todriveoffthegreenrst.Thesourceoftheleak
shouldbedeterminedandrepairedbeforecontinuing
operation.Ifaleakisnotfound,andafalseleakis
suspected,movetheignitionswitchtotheOffposition
andallowthemachinetostandfor1-2minutestoallow
theoillevelstostabilize.Thenstartthemachineand
operateinanon-sensitiveareatoconrmnoleakexists.
Falsealarms,duetooilcontraction,maybecausedby
extendedidlingofthemachineafternormaloperation.
Afalsealarmmayalsooccur,ifthemachineisworked
atareducedworkloadafteranextendedperiodof
aheavierworkload.Toavoidfalsealarms,turnthe
machineoffratherthanidlingforextendedperiods.
TransportOperation
Makesurethecuttingunitsareinthefullupposition.
SettheshiftselectorinNo.2ifconditionswillpermit
fastergroundspeed.ShifttoNo.1andoperateat
slowergroundspeedsinroughorhillyareas.Usethe
brakestoslowthemachinewhilegoingdownsteep
hillstoavoidlossofcontrol.Alwaysapproachrough
areasatareducedspeed(shiftselectorinNo.1),and
crosssevereundulationscarefully.Familiarizeyourself
withthewidthofthemachine.Donotattempttopass
betweenobjectsthatareclosetogethersothatcostly
damageanddowntimecanbeprevented.
InspectionandCleanupAfter
Mowing
Atthecompletionofthemowingoperation,thoroughly
washthemachinewithagardenhosewithoutanozzle
soexcessivewaterpressurewillnotcausecontamination
anddamagetothesealsandbearings.Aftercleaning,
inspectthemachineforpossiblehydraulicuid
leaks,damageorweartohydraulicandmechanical
components,andthecuttingunitsforsharpness.
Also,lubricatethemowandliftpedalandbrakeshaft
assemblywithSAE30oilorspraylubricanttodeter
corrosionandhelpkeepthemachineperforming
satisfactorilyduringthenextmowingoperation.
