OperatingtheBoomTransportCradle
Thesprayerisequippedwithaboomtransportcradlethat
hasauniquesafetyfeature.Intheeventofaccidentalboom
contactwithalowoverheadobjectwhileinthetransport
position,theboom(s)canbepushedoutofthetransport
cradles.Ifthisoccurs,theboomswillcometorestina
nearhorizontalpositiontotherearofthevehicle.While
theboomswillnotbedamagedduetothismovement,they
shouldbeimmediatelyputbackintothetransportcradle.
Important:Theboomscanbedamagedbytransporting
theminanypositionotherthanthe“X”transport
positionusingtheboomtransportcradle.
Toputtheboomsbackintothetransportcradle,lowerthe
boom(s)tothesprayposition,andthenraisetheboom(s)
backintothetransportposition.Makesuretheboom
cylindersarefullyretractedtopreventactuatorroddamage
duringstorage.
Spraying
Important:Inordertoensurethatyoursolution
remainswellmixed,usetheagitationfeaturewhenever
youhavesolutioninthetank.Foragitationtowork,
thepumpmustbeonandtheenginemustberunning
aboveanidle.

FillingtheSprayTank(page28).
1.SetthemasterboomswitchtotheOffposition.
2.Adjustthethrottletothedesiredpositiontosprayat.
3.Drivetothelocationwhereyouwillbespraying.
4.Lowertheboomsintoposition.
5.Settheindividualsectionswitches,asneeded,tothe
Onpositions.
6.Usetheapplicationrateswitchtoachievethedesired
pressureasindicatedinthenozzleselectionguide
providedwiththesprayer.
7.Driveatthedesiredspeedandthensetthemaster
boomswitchtotheOnpositiontobeginspraying.
Note:Whenthetankisnearlyempty,theagitation
maycausefoaminginthetank.Inthiscase,turnthe
agitationswitchoff.Alternatively,youcanusean
anti-foamingagentinthetank.
8.Whennishedspraying,setthemasterboomswitch
totheOffpositiontoturnoffallbooms,thensetthe
pumpswitchtotheOffposition.
Note:Returntheboomstothetransportpositionand
drivethesprayertothecleaningarea.
Important:Alwaysraisetheboomsuntilthey
havemovedcompletelyintoboomtransportcradle
formingthe“X”transportpositionandtheboom
cylindersarefullyretractedwheneveryoumove
thesprayerfromonesprayingareatoanotheror
movetoastorageorcleaningarea.
TurfCarePrecautionswhile
OperatinginStationaryModes
Important:Undersomeconditions,heatfromthe
engine,radiator,andmufercanpotentiallydamage
grasswhenoperatingthesprayerinastationarymode.
Stationarymodesincludetankagitation,handspraying
withaspraygun,orusingawalkingboom.
Usethefollowingprecautions:
•Avoidstationarysprayingwhenconditionsareveryhot
and/ordry,asturfcanbemorestressedduringthese
periods.
•Avoidparkingontheturfwhilestationaryspraying.Park
onacartpathwheneverpossible.
•Minimizetheamountoftimethemachineisleft
runningoveranyparticularareaofturf.Bothtimeand
temperatureaffecthowmuchthegrassmaybedamaged.
•Settheenginespeedaslowaspossibletoachievethe
desiredpressureandow .Thiswillminimizetheheat
generatedandtheairvelocityfromthecoolingfan.
•Allowheattoescapeupwardfromtheengine
compartmentbyraisingtheseatassembliesduring
stationaryoperationratherthanbeingforcedoutunder
thevehicle.
SprayingTips
•Donotoverlapareasthatyouhavepreviouslysprayed.
•Watchforpluggednozzles.Replaceallwornordamaged
nozzles.
•Usethemasterboomswitchtostopthesprayowbefore
stoppingthesprayer.Oncestopped,usetheneutral
enginespeedcontroltoholdtheenginespeeduptokeep
theagitationrunning.
•Youwillobtainbetterresultsifthesprayerismoving
whenyouturntheboomson.
UncloggingaNozzle
Ifanozzlebecomescloggedwhileyouarespraying,youcan
cleanitusingahandspraybottleofwateroratoothbrush.
1.Stopthesprayeronalevelsurface,stoptheengine,
andsettheparkingbrake.
2.SetthemasterboomswitchtotheOffpositionand
thensetthepumpswitchtotheOffposition.
3.Removethecloggednozzleandcleanitusingaspray
bottleofwateroratoothbrush.
