•Cleangrassanddebrisfromthecuttingunits,mufers,
andenginecompartmenttohelppreventres.Cleanup
oilorfuelspills.
•Shutoffthefuelbeforestoringortransportingthe
machine.
•Disengagethedrivetotheattachmentwheneveryouare
transportingornotusingthemachine.
•Usefull-widthrampsforloadingthemachineintoa
trailerortruck.
•Tiethemachinedownsecurelyusingstraps,chains,cable,
orropes.Bothfrontandrearstrapsshouldbedirected
downandoutwardfromthemachine.
•Allowtheenginetocoolbeforestoringthemachinein
anyenclosure.
•Neverstorethemachineorfuelcontainerwherethereis
anopename,spark,orpilotlight,suchasonawater
heateroronotherappliances.
UsingtheFuel-ShutoffValve
Thefuel-shutoffvalveislocatedundertheseat.Movethe
seatforwardtoaccessit.
Closethefuel-shutoffvalvefortransport,maintenance,and
storage.
Ensurethatthefuel-shutoffvalveisopenwhenstartingthe
engine.

PushingtheMachine
1.Disengagetheblade-controlswitch(PTO),turnthe
ignitionkeytotheOFFposition,movetheleversto
NEUTRAL-LOCKposition,engagetheparkingbrake,
andremovethekey.
2.Rotatethebypassvalvescounterclockwise1turnto
push(Figure39).
Note:Thisallowshydraulicuidtobypassthepump
enablingthewheelstoturn.
Important:Donotrotatebypassvalvesmorethan
1turn.Thispreventsvalvesfromcomingoutof
thebodyandcausinguidtorunout.
3.Disengagetheparkingbrakebeforepushing.
