flow) the controller will permit the condition to persist for a pre-set time. If this time exceeds the
adjustable time, the controller can then advance to the next programmed station or group, or cancel
irrigation. When a fault occurs, the fault is recorded in the controller.
Two delays can be set. The first delay is used at the beginning of an irrigation program and during
group changes. This delay allows time for the system to stabilise before acting on any abnormal
conditions. The second delay time is used during irrigation shifts and would typically be a shorter
delay. Two delays are used for the Switch Sensor to allow for the different conditions that may occur
at irrigation commencement and during group changes. If an irrigation program requires time to fill
mainlines at the start of irrigation a longer time may be required than during a shift change, when the
mainlines are already filled.
Switch Sensor Operation
When a switch sensor is enabled, it monitors the input for changes. If the input changes the switch
sensor enters an adjustable delay time. If the switch input returns to the previous condition (open or
short), the switch sensor reverts to the existing condition. If the switch input remains closed at the
end of the delay period, the switch sensor changes condition to open (or closed as appropriate).
The flow meter operation is shown in Figure 81.
