Check that the Ethernet cable between the controller and external device is
connected correctly.
Use a cross connect cable if connecting the robot controller directly to an
external device, and use a straight cable if the connection passes through a
hub.
After making any parameter settings, turn the power off and then on again to
enable the new settings.
5.2.4 Confirmation with a Windows Computer
This describes how to confirm the connection using the DOS command "ping".
From the Start menu in Windows, go to the Command Prompt, and specify the IP
address of the robot controller as shown below.
C:¥> ping Robot controller IP address
If there is a transmission problem, the result "unreachable" or "Request Time out" is
displayed as shown in Figure 5.2.
If transmission is performed normally, the result "Reply from …" is displayed as
shown in Figure 5.3.
