10. Selected applications explained step by step
10.1. Start-up and Dispensing
Step 1:
Before you start running the Micro Dispensing Valve, make yourself familiar with the
manual. Take care about the safety instructions.
Step 2:
After that, mount the valve on the spot. The particular details are found in chapter 8.
Step 3:
Connect the line cord and the valve with the control unit and the switch on the control
unit.
Step 4:
Now you have to adjust the nozzle insert to the tappet. For this, you need to carry out
the “Adjust-Process” (chapter 5). The green LED must always be on when you start the
dispensing process!
Step 5:
The valve is now ready for operation. You simply have to provide the fluid (chapter 4).
Step 6:
Enter the parameter setting: Rising 0.5, Open Time 1.5, Falling 0.17, Delay 5-30,
Needle Lift 50 and Number of Pulses 500-2000. Please dispense (by pressing )
approx. 500-2000 jets (You can determine the number of jets by choosing an
appropriate Number of Pulses”). This procedure will remove any enclosed air in the
system.
Step 7:
Now you can start your desired dispensing. For this just press (a jet series is
started according to the pulse parameters you entered) or use the command
VALVE:OPEN.
Attention!!! Never use the valve without nozzle insert. Otherwise the valve may be damaged.
10.2. Change of valve or control unit
Step 1:
Finish all dispense processes so the valve is non-operative.
Step 2:
Take care that no dispense fluid may leak. Therefore you have to lower the supply
pressure to ambient pressure. It might be necessary to disconnect or empty the
cartridge respectively the supply container. The cartridge can be closed with the
cartridge locking pin.
Step 3:
Switch-off the control unit MDC 3090A-FA.
Step 4:
Separate the valve from the fluid supply.
