Step 5:
Disconnect all cables from the valve respectively the control unit.
Step 6:
Loosen all screws fixing the valve respectively the control unit. Make sure none of
these devices might fall down.
Step 7:
For mounting the new valve respectively new control unit please follow chapter 7.5 and
8.
Step 8:
Adjust the nozzle insert to the tappet.
Step 9:
The valve is now ready for operation. You only have to provide the dispense fluid and
enter the desirable dispensing parameters (7.4).
10.3. MDC Communicator 2
10.3.1. Introduction
The MDC Communicator 2 allows the user to check and execute the commands for the MDC over
the serial port RS-232.
It is based on Lab View from National Instruments and it is running under windows 7 or 8. You
also need the Adobe Acrobat Reader to be able to read the manual. The MDC Communicator 2
and its manual can be found on the manual CD/DVD in the folder “MDC Communicator 2”.
The serial interface is structured according to SCPI standard. It works with software handshake,
the hardware handshake connections are not used.

The interface is designed for a serial cable with 1:1 interconnection, and Sub-D 9-pin
plug/socket connectors.

Communicator 2”.
