Every Vetus Maintenance-free battery has a
hydrometer (1) built into the cover.
Visual inspection of the hydrometer will show
one of three conditions:
23 Hydrometer operation
Green dot visible:
State of charge 65 % or more.
Dark:
State of charge less than 65 %. Recharge im-
mediately.
Clear or light yellow:
Electrolyte level low.
In case of low level, caused by overcharging
the battery for a long period of time with a
voltage too high, replace battery. Check alter-
nator and/or voltage regulator.
