Shorten or extend the chain so that the join in the chain can be
moved into the lock.
• If the chain is shortened, the cutting unit's downward pressure is
reduced.
• If the chain is extended, the cutting unit's downward pressure is
increased.
The length of the chain can be found as follows:
Feed the chain through the eye.
Find the desired length on the chain. [1].
Feed the chain through the eye and into the lock. [2]
Feed the end of the chain back through the eye again [3].
