7.2 Operating the universal joint shaft

Guards attached ( system documentation)
DANGER
Severe to deadly injuries due to rotating parts!
Keep personnel who are not participating away, e.g. using
supervisory personnel, enclosures, fences.
Do not remove any safety equipment as long as the universal
joint shaft/system is not standing still and secured against
starting up again.
Before restarting the universal joint shaft/system, reattach all
safety equipment.
Perform regular visual inspections, e.g. for damage,
conspicuity.
Monitor operating noises for change. Report changes to the
responsible office/person.
DANGER
In case of ATEX-certified universal joint shafts: severe to
deadly injuries due to overheating universal joint shaft in
case of:
Vibrating or oscillating universal joint shaft
Exceeding of the life span
Overload of the universal joint shaft
Avoid vibrations and oscillations during operation
Heed life span of the universal joint shaft

Only operate the universal joint shaft within the specified
speed and torque range.
