10. At the end of each truck, after the truck is emptied, raise the dump hopper to transfer all of the materal. Use the
vibrator to ‘shake’ loose any material that may be stuck to the hopper. Dumping the hopper will keep material from
building up in the hopper and getting cool. Lower the hopper, back the next truck in front of the elevator and repeat
the previous steps.
NOTE: An additional operator may be used on the ground near the dump hopper to assist in dumping the trucks.
All necessary controls are provided for the hopper controls on the ground.
11. After the machine is completely warmed up, adjust the elevator speed to match the amount required to keep the
paver hopper or hopper insert at least 2/3 full. The best practice is to set the elevator at a speed that does not require
starting and stopping the elevator multiple times for each truck.
IMPORTANT: When stopping the elevator and conveyors, always shut off the elevator and remix hopper before
shutting off the conveyor. Plugging or stalling of the conveyor may result from overloading the conveyor if the
conveyor is shut off first.
