MACHINE CLEAN UP
At the end of the day’s operation, the machine should be washed down to remove build-up of material on the elevator,
conveyor, mixing hopper, dump hopper and push rollers. At this time, the 10 hour lubrication points on the lube chart
should also be serviced.
A wash down system is supplied for cleaning the machine after
handling asphalt materials. It uses liquid from the wash down
tank and the package consists of a pump/ dc motor, spray down
hose with quick disconnect fittings and a spray nozzle.
Clean out doors are provided on the elevator, conveyor, mixing
hopper and truck dump hopper. Open the clean out doors and
dump any remaining material from the dump hopper, the elevator
and conveyor. All slat chains and hoppers should be cleaned and
lubricated while the asphalt is still hot. This will make clean up
much easier and add to the life of the machine.
The use of fuel oil to clean the machine is environmentally not
recommended and alternate cleaning compounds should be used. These may be mandated by local governing
agencies.
IMPORTANT: REGARDLESS OF WHAT CLEANING SOLUTIONS ARE USED, IT IS IMPORTANT THAT
THE MACHINE BE CLEANED AND LUBRICATED AT THE END OF EACH WORKING DAY TO OBTAIN
NORMAL LIFE OF WEARING COMPONENTS ON THE MACHINE.
