5. Close clean out door, as described in the following steps.
a. Lower the conveyor to the ground (until conveyor forces door to close), verify that there is not
material keeping the door from closing, if so clean material out and reclose the door. Depending on
the surface it may be necessary to back up the machine while lowering the conveyor.
b. Lock the door with the latches
c. Raise the conveyor to take pressure off of the skid tubes. Remove pins in skid tubes and raise skid to
storage position and install pins.
6. Clean material off of the paving surface with a loader or other machine and proceed with the paving operation.
CLEANING STALLED REMIX HOPPER
In the event of a stalled remix hopper use the following steps to remove material to free the augers.
IMPORTANT: Do not run the remix hopper in reverse with material in the augers, auger damage may result.
1. Use the remix hopper switch to reverse the augers. Only bump the switch to cause the augers to rock. Over-
rotating the augers in the reverse direction will force material between the outer augers and the side of the hopper and
may damage the outer augers. Bump switch in forward and reverse to free the augers. If this is unsucessful procede
to step # 2.
CAUTION: Asphalt is hot and will burn skin. Use caution when opening doors to not allow the asphalt to
contact the skin.
2. Shut off the engine and ground disconnect. Go to the rear of
the machine and open the hopper clean out doors (1) using the
latches (2). The material will fall from the augers. Use a tool
such as a shovel to dig the built up material from around the
augers.
3. Clean material from the doors and any material that dropped
onto the frame. Close doors the doors, start the machine, and
verify that the augers are turning freely with the service control
panel.
4. Clean material off of the paving surface with a loader or other
machine and proceed with the paving operation.
