28 Hygienic preparation

• Creased hose WM 24120 (grey) can be steam-sterilized using
equipment to EN 285. Temperature: 134 ˚C, minimum treatment
time 3 minutes. Follow EN 554/ ISO 11134 with regard to vali-
dation and monitoring.
Accessories
To disinfect the exhalation system, the mask, the VENTIpower, the VENTI-O

, the bac-
teria filter and the VENTIclick, please see the section entitled "Disinfection and steriliza-
tion" in the relevant operating instructions.
6.4 Change in patients
If the unit is being operated with a bacteria filter, please note the following:
• change the bacteria filter
or
• sterilize the bacteria filter and change the particle filter located in-
side it.
If the unit is to be utilized for another patient without using a bacteria filter, it must
undergo hygienic preparation beforehand. This has to be carried out by the manu-
facturer (WEINMANN) or a dealer.
The procedure used for hygienic preparation is described in the inspection sheet and
in the service and repair instructions for the VENTIlogic.
