Westerbeke 12.5 BTDA - Fuel Lift Pump Operation

FUEL SYSTEM
FUEL LIFT PUMPS
Two types of fuel lift pumps are shown, both operate dn the
same electromagnetic principle. Earlier model engines use a
lift
pump with a replaceable element. This element should be
changed at regular maintenance intervals (at 250 hours).
Later model engines use a smaller left pump that does not
require maintenance. Electrical connections
should be kept
clean and tight
with either pump.
When energized thru the preheat circuit, the fuel lift pump
will purge air from the fuel system and provide a continuous
flow of fuel as the engine is running.
