11 Maintenance schedule
Regular inspections of the woom bike by a professional are important for the safety of your
child. When to have the woom bike serviced by a professional bike repair shop:
After riding 200 kilometres and at least once a year:
Have the tyres and wheels checked for soundness and proper condition.
Have the tightening torques checked for the handlebars, headset, cranks, pedals,
saddle, seatpost and all mounting bolts.
Every 1,000 kilometres, a professional should remove, inspect, clean, lubricate and, if
necessary, replace the following components:
Hub
Pedals
Headset
Brakes
Chain and drivetrain components
Reectors
WARNING
Be sure to have the individual components (especially frame and fork) checked re-
gularly for damage and wear after heavy use. If your woom bike is used extensively,
wear will occur more quickly and maintenance will have to be carried out earlier than
the specied maintenance intervals. Failure to observe this information can result in
material damage, severe damage to health (danger to life) or death.
