11 Web Server and Web API
ipVG devices have an integrated Web Server for transmitting live images and, if necessary, controlling PTZ
functions. If you select this option (Recorder settings/Connections/Network (TCP/IP)/Web Server) one of
these six standard connections is dropped in favour of up to four additional connections to PC, PDA or
Smartphone browsers, refer to "Web Server" on page 53.
The ipVG devices also have Web API. This is a further program interface which, like the Web Server, has to
be activated in the device parameters if necessary, refer to "Web API" on page 56.
Whereas conventional HeiTel applications like CamControl LITE, CamControl PRO and CamControl
SERVER establish the IP connections to HeiTel video systems via port 3000 (port 3333 may also be used for
HTconnect), the applications CamControl Android, CamControl iPhone, CamControl MV and CamControl
WM require an activated Web API. The Web API uses port 80 by default.

Router parameters
For connections from the Internet, it is usually necessary to create a port forwarding rule on the router
(forwarding of an external port query to a device in the internal router network with a specific port).
Please consult the documentation for your router.
