6. Remove coolant pipe (Figure 8-14, (1)) from
engine.
7. Remove bolt (Figure 8-14, (2)) securing
dipstick tube to oil filter housing.
8. Remove three bolts (Figure 8-14, (3)) and
remove oil filter housing from engine.
9. Install a new seal and install oil filter housing.
10. Connect the coolant pipe and secure the
dipstick tube.
11. Install the filter cover and filter. Tighten to
25 N·m (221 in.-lb).
12. Start the engine and inspect for leaks.
Remove and Install Oil Sump
1. Remove bolt securing oil dipstick tube to oil
filter housing. Remove oil dipstick tube from oil
pan.

2. Remove bolts (Figure 8-15, (1)) that secure oil
sump to flywheel housing.

3. Remove bolts (Figure 8-16, (1)) securing oil
sump to cylinder block.
4. Remove oil sump (Figure 8-16, (2)) and gasket
(Figure 8-16, (3)).
5. Clean gasket surfaces of old gasket material.
6. Install oil sump with a new gasket.
7. Tighten oil sump bolts beginning at the center
and working alternately toward each end.
Tighten bolts to 20 N·m (177 in.-lb).
