Data Logging
Data logging saves the values of specified registers in a log file according to the preset trigger
timing and conditions.
The data is stored in the RAM in the CPU Module or on the USB memory device.
Operating Procedure
This section describes how to perform data logging.
1.
Connect the Machine Controller to the PC, and start the MPE720.
Refer to the following manual for details.

Select View System from the menu bar.
The System Pane will be displayed on the left side of the window.

Click the Expand [+] Button next to the Logging item to display the log files in the Sys-
tem Pane and double-click Logging1.
Data Storage Location Merits Demerits
CPU Module RAM
The file writing speed is fast and the
overhead that is placed on the scan is
low.
Data is lost when the power supply to
the CPU Module is turned OFF.
Storage capacity is limited to 8 MB.
USB memory
Data can be stored for a long time.
Logged data can be viewed easily by
inserting the USB memory device into
a PC.
The file writing speed is slow and the
overhead that is placed on the scan is
high.
