This chapter provides operating instructions for the advanced features of the SIP-T58V/A smart
media phone. Topics include:

If you require additional information or assistance with your new phone, contact your system
administrator.
Busy Lamp Field (BLF)
You can use BLF to monitor a specific line for status changes on the phone. For example, you
can configure a BLF key on the phone to monitor the status of a friend’s line (busy or idle). The
BLF key icon illuminates solid red when the friend’s line is in use. For more information, contact
your system administrator.
Configuring the BLF Feature on the Phone
You need to configure the IP phone to perform BLF monitoring. IP phones being monitored do
not require any configuration.
Configuring a BLF Key
To configure a BLF key via phone user interface:
1. Swipe down from the top of the screen or swipe left/right to go to the second idle screen.
2. Tap Settings->Features->DSS Keys.
3. Tap the desired line key.
4. Tap the Type field.
