precedence.
Parameter<distance-metric>instaticroutecongurationcommandaboutIProutecanbe
usedtochangeadministrativedistancevalueofastaticroute.Supposingtherearetwo
differentroutesfromS1tonetworksection140.1.1.0/24,thecongurationisasfollows:

Sinceadministrativedistanceoftherstrouteislessthanthatofthesecondroute,only
informationaboutrstrouteappearsinroutingtable.Thatis,theswitchsendspacketsto
destinationnetworksegment140.1.1.0/24throughnext-hopaddress10.6.1.18only.The
secondrouteappearsinroutingtableonlywhentherstroutefailsanddisappearsfrom
theroutingtable.Thetwostaticroutescannothavethesametagvalue,whichgotothe
samedestinationnetworkbuttheirnext-hopisdifferent.
