BecausethepriorityofanOSPFrouteishigherthanthatofaBGProute,anOSPFprivate
routeisusuallytherstchoiceifbothapublicnetworkrouteandanOSPFprivatenetwork
routeareavailable.However,comparingwiththepublicnetworkroute,theprivatenetwork
routeisnotsuitableforcarryingalargeowbecauseitsbandwidthissmaller.Therefore,
amechanismisrequiredtoenablethepublicnetworktosharetheprivatenetworkow.
Thepublicandprivatenetworkcanbeselectedexiblytocarrytheow.
AsshowninFigure3-12,S1andS2areinthesamearea.TherearetwotypesofLSAs
learntbyS1whenitaccessesS2.OneisLSAsoftype3advertisedbyaPErouter,another
isLSAsoftype1oodedbyarea0.InaccordancewiththeOSPFrouteselectionpolicy,
theroutecalculatedbyLSAsoftype1isoptimal,sotheOSPFprivatenetworkrouteis
