Appendix C Flame Detection Theory
C.1 Basic Flame Detection
Flame Scanner located on the igniter or main burner measures the instantaneous energy
produced from the combustion of the fuel.
SF910i digitizes the flame signal 2,000 times per second, then measures the flame
characteristics using proprietary analysis algorithms as shown in the figure below.
