10. Carefully place the base cover onto the top assembly. Make sure that the edges of
the base cover are aligned properly to those of the top assembly.
11. Press downward on the system to engage the tabs. Make sure all the tabs are fully
engaged (Figure 2-23).

12. Flip the system over, plug in the AC power and press down the
Esc + Power
keys
simultaneously (Figure 2-24). Continue holding for more than one second until the
system enters Recovery Mode.

13. When the message “Please insert a recovery USB stick or SD card” appears, insert the
recovery USB stick or SD card to install the RMA Shim in Recovery Mode.
