• Remove and empty the turntable.
• Install a new wiper ring on the turntable.
• Load three sample tubes each of:
o 2000 mOsm/kg H
2
O Calibration Standard in positions 1 to 3
o 850 mOsm/kg H
2
O Calibration Standard in positions 4 to 6
o 50 mOsm/kg H
2
O Calibration Standard in positions 7 to 9
• Install the turntable with the evaporation cover on the instrument.
• Press START to start calibration or press EXIT to return to the Main Screen.
At the start of calibration, the instrument checks the turntable positions to ensure all the sample
tubes are loaded. If all tubes are loaded, calibration testing begins. The Calibration in
Progress screen displays (Figure 4.9) the calibration test progress and the results. Successfully
tested individual calibration standards are indicated by the text DONE and are displayed both on
screen and on the printout. Successfully tested calibrator groups are indicated by the text XXXX
CAL DONE, where XXXX is the calibration standard value. This appears on screen and on the
printout.

4.6.2 Canceling a calibration test
A calibration test may be terminated at any time during the test process by pressing CANCEL.
A cancel message displays (Figure 4.10) and the user is asked if calibration should be
cancelled. If calibration is cancelled, the user returns to the Calibration screen (Figure 4.8).
Here the user can press EXIT to return to the Main screen.
