3.2.3.1.3.2 – System Alarm Settings
System alarms provide the user with warnings or information regarding system activity, errors or faults. From the
‘System Alarms’ menu the user can assign valve open/close timings to trigger an alarm; a specific relay, all relays or no
relay to trigger when system log alarms are raised and/or when the system cycle is stopped. The relay options are
available from a drop down selection menu as shown below in Figure 56. These settings must be applied individually to
each waterline connected to the analyzer. Otherwise settings will only apply to the current waterline listed at the
bottom of the dialogue box.

Time delays can be set for the valve; where a time is allowed for the valve to start moving and another for the valve to
complete the motion. If the valve fails to complete the action within the allotted time an alarm log will be raised in
addition to ‘Valve Anomaly’ reported in the status display.
Once a relay is assigned and a system log alarm is raised, the relay output will close. Only when the system log alarm is
cleared will the relay output return to open. If the same relay is assigned to another alarm type, i.e. measurement alarm,
clearing the primary alarm only will open the output; if the system log alarm is secondary, clearing it will not open the
output. Note that ‘Info’ system log alarms are for information only and will not affect the relay output.
The second available relay option will close the relay output when the measurement cycle is stopped and will only open
the relay when the cycle is started again. As above, if this relay is assigned to another alarm type, then the primary
alarm must be cleared for the relay output to open.
